Stratford Immigration Lawyer

It is impossible, even for an experienced lawyer, to answer the question “Can I come to the United States?" without knowing detailed information about the potential immigrant.  Before this question can be answered competently, an experienced immigration attorney needs to ask a potential applicant for a US visa a series of questions. Upon receiving truthful answers, additional questions may have to be asked. Only upon receipt and analysis of a great deal of information, are we able to render legal advice in regards to a question posed by you.  Many people seek to obtain a visa (fiance, student, au pair, temporary worker, spouse or a child of a US citizen) to enter the United States.  Those who are already in the US need to adjust their status to a permanent resident status (greencard), or some are ready to apply to become a US citizen.  Our immigration attorneys are experienced in tackling those visa, green card or citizenship issues, including many complex matters such as deportations (removal) and waivers for abused spouses, criminal convictions or immigration fraud.

Stratford General Information:

Stratford is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States, located on Long Island Sound at the mouth of the Housatonic River. It was founded by Puritans in 1639.

The population was 49,976 at the 2000 census. It has a historical legacy in aviation, the military, and the theater. In 1942, Igor Sikorsky developed and produced the first successful single-rotor helicopter in Stratford. The town was also the home of the Stratford Army Engine Plant from 1939 to 1998.

In 1955, Stratford, having the same name as Stratford-upon-Avon, William Shakespeare's hometown in England, became home to the nationally renowned American Shakespeare Festival, which was housed, until its closure, at its 1,100 seat Stratford Festival Theatre on the Housatonic River. The theatre featured such luminaries as Katharine Hepburn, Paul Newman, Jessica Tandy, Jane Alexander, Hal Holbrook, Roddy McDowall, Nina Foch, and John Houseman.

Stratford is also home to Sikorsky Memorial Airport, and the Great Meadows Unit of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge, which borders the airport. Today, Stratford has two Superfund sites as designated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

Stratford is bordered on the west by Bridgeport, on the north by Trumbull and Shelton, and on the east by Milford, (across the Housatonic).
